Dale's story is unique. He had unprecedented and unrestricted access throughout Cambodia. If a helicopter was needed, it would be provided. If he wanted a boat to venture up the Mekong River to film areas of combat, two or more boats were made available to him.
No other Westerner at that time had such freedom of movement inside Cambodia. He was afforded privileges normally only given to heads of state or high ranking military leaders, including being given his own personal bodyguard. |
